The traditional way of celebrating a birthday in Greenland is to invite people for KAFFIMIK: everybody would bring their own cups and a little bit of coffee they have at home which they would donate to the pot of boiling water. As more people walked in, coffee would become stronger and people would arrive deliberately late so that they would drink stronger coffee with their cake. Everybody in the village knew about the party and all were invited.
Angaangaq is going to celebrate his 78th birthday. Feel free to show up online for KAFFIMIK any time between 3 pm and 5 pm CET (Berlin time). Angaangaq will welcome you for his birthday.
