Angaangaq wird mit 100 spirituellen F\u00fchrern und f\u00fchrenden Pers\u00f6nlichkeiten an dieser Zeremonie teilnehmen, um das Bewusstsein darauf zu lenken, wie wichtig es gerade jetzt ist, dass wir liebende G\u00fcte und Mitgef\u00fchl gegen\u00fcber allen Wesen praktizieren.<\/p>\n

Mit diesem historischen Event wollen wir der Welt zeigen, dass wir in Freundschaft und gegenseitigem Respekt unser gemeinsames Ziel einer friedvollen Welt, die auf Weisheit, Mitgef\u00fchl, Einheit in der Verschiedenheit, Vergebung und Vers\u00f6hnung beruht, anstreben.<\/p>\n

Assisi, the sacred City of Peace and birthplace of St Francis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint for environment could be viewed as the original Earth Day advocate. Francis\u2019 devotion to God\u00a0was expressed\u00a0through his\u00a0love for all of God\u2019s creation, Mother Earth. He cared for the poor and sick,\u00a0he preached sermons to animals, and\u00a0praised all creatures as brothers and sisters under God.\u00a0St\u00a0Francis had met with the Sultan on his journey to the Holy Land. \u00a0They respected each other.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

St Francis could therefore be an example of becoming friends with other religious leaders from a different background. Saint Francis believed that all creatures should praise God and the people have a duty to protect and enjoy nature as both the stewards of God\u2019s creation and as creatures ourselves. On November 29, 1979,\u00a0 Pope John Paul III declared Saint Francis the Patron Saint of Ecology.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Pope John Paul II wrote on the occasion of the World Day of Peace, January 1, 1990, the saint of Assisi \u201coffers Christians an example of genuine and deep respect for the integrity of creation \u2026\u201d He went on to make the point that: \u201cAs a friend of the poor who was loved by God\u2019s creatures, Saint Francis invited all of creation \u2013 animals, plants, natural forces, even Brother Sun and Sister Moon \u2013 to give honor and praise to the Lord. The poor man of Assisi gives us striking witness that when we are at peace with God we are better able to devote ourselves to building up that peace with all creation which is inseparable from peace among all peoples.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
